Some pros and cons about being a proffesional gymnast are... Pros: 1. Some of the great things about being a professional gymnast are things like being able to travel (and not having to pay for it!) 2. Also, meeting new people with different cultural backgrounds. There is a chance to get to see that your normal life isn't the same as someone else's. 3. The team is support, they are there to help and give lots of corrections and advice. 4. Skills like learning to manage time, planning ahead, and being ready for unexpected things develop. 5. There is plenty of family support. 6. The team is like sisters, but yet your biggest competition. 7. Not many people get to 'fly,' but Professional Gymnasts do! (and it's a lot of fun!) 8. Being a gymnast practically guarantees that staying fit will not be a problem. Cons: 1. Many injuries occur, and some are not repairable. 2. When injuries are present, nothing can be done but to move on and rest. This leads to losing skills. 3. When there is no winning happening, you may be dropped out of the competition and lose respect from the public. 4. LOTS of criticism occurs. Whether it is public or not, it gets spread around and can ruin your reputation. 5. Coaches are dissapointed, which does NOT feel good. 6. Being sick or lacking practice causes loss of skills. 7. There is a lot of pressure, and it often affects the level of performance. 8. A lot of money is spent on leotards, extra practices, competitions, grips, routines, etc.
